It is operating as a Company under Bangladesh Oil, Gas & Mineral Corporation (Petrobangla) of the Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources.

Shahbazpur Gas Field Appraisal and Development Project included appraisal, production and marketing of gas from Shahbazpur gas field located in Bhola district.
OCSP
As per the contract agreement between BAPEX and Sichuan Honghua Petroleum Equipment Co., Ltd. of China signed on 20th January 2009, a 2000 HP VFD Type rig has arrived in Bangladesh on 08-06-2010.The rig is now lying in Fenchuganj well site for commissioning and drilling.
Mubarakpur
The project envisages drilling an exploratory well of 4500 (+) meter. Final approval to drill the well has been received from ECNEC and a RADP has been approved on 30 March,2010.
