Drilling of an evaluation well in Srikail structure:
After acquiring and interpreting 132 line km seismic data in the Srikail structure it was found that the previous well was located in an area dominated by channels. The proposed well is planned to test a new location on the basis of the updated geological and geophysical studies. The new location has been determined after correlating the gas sands discovered in the neighboring Bangora gas field by Tullow oil in block 9. This has substantially increased the prospect of discovering commercial gas reserve.
Development drilling in the Saldanadi gas field:
An analysis has been completed based on the data from the field to identify the reasons of declining production in the Saldanadi gas field. The review and analysis indicates that two more wells can be planned to increase production from this field. When executed, this may substantially increase the availability of gas supply to Chittagong area.
Work over program for other companies:
An agreement has been reached with BGFCL to work over 5 wells belonging to BGFCL using the BAPEX rig P80 and the BGFCL rig IPS Cardwell. The work over program will be executed by BAPEX and formal contract signing between BAPEX and BGFCL is under process.
G & G study and drilling in Blocks 8 and 11:
Acquisition of 3000 line km seismic data has been planned in the blocks 8 and 11 allocated to BAPEX. So far more than 800 line km seismic surveys have been completed. The analysis of the completed survey has resulted in the delineation of the Kapasia structure where drilling of an exploration well is under process
